Snails (2)

There are countless types of snails, however some of them are particularly interesting, namely the limax, the ones without a “house”. These snails can usually be spotted at nighttime, especially when it rained. The darkness protects them, as lacking the “house” makes them more exposed. During daytime one can find them by searching in hidden (and wet!) places like under a rock.

Below I posted some pictures with one common subspecies of limax, namely the “limax flavus”, which I captured one night in my yard. It was almost completely dark outside (nearly midnight) so it took some effort to take these photos (don’t ask me how 🙂 ). I can say it was not at all easy, however the effort paid off 🙂
