Ice and Icicles

Hi friends!

In previous post I was telling you about the beauty of snow. However it’s not only snow that is worth shooting in winter. Another element that can have a great impact on the photos is ice. So in this post I attached some pictures with different ice shapes. Let me tell you their “story”.

Last week of January brought quite strange weather in Romania. After having snowed in previous weeks a frozen rain covered everything with glazed frost: streets, sidewalks, houses and trees. The pavement got so slippery that it was extremely difficult to walk. But the most unusual thing that happened was the ice from the trees.

Why Snow is a Perfect Setup for Photography

Hi folks!

It’s still winter! Actually we’re in the middle of it and in many places it’s a fantastic moment for taking outdoor pictures. The reason is simple: snow!

In this post I’ll present you some of my findings about taking outdoor pictures when (almost) everything is white.

What Photography Means to Me (3)

Although nature photography is my “major”, I occasionally practiced other genres like: wedding and child christening photography, club event photography, fashion, portrait. This is because I like photography in general and each experience can be interesting and useful as well. And as mentioned before it adds to the overall experience and enriches it.

The Blizzard

Getting out in the field and taking pictures is not always a comfortable process. Sometimes it’s too hot outside and you need to drink tons of liquids to keep up (https://callofnatureblog.wordpress.com/2016/09/03/airshows-3/). In other situations it rains and you have to pay attention to the equipment, as not all cameras and lenses are weather sealed (https://callofnatureblog.wordpress.com/2014/08/07/droplets-2/). And last but not least, it might be so cold that you wish you were home with a cup of hot tea nearby (https://callofnatureblog.wordpress.com/2013/01/31/winter-in-alba-iulia-2/).

Birds (2)

My previous post about birds (https://callofnatureblog.wordpress.com/2014/12/12/birds/) contained pictures taken in the warm season. Now, as winter “officially” began (solstice), I think it would be a good idea to go back “into the white”.

Before it’s getting cold, many birds fly to warmer places, while others remain to endure the frost. The seagulls, wild ducks and even crows belong to the last type. And if they find a small pond where they can get fish, this can be seen as a true haven.
