Pigeons

Hi folks,

Until now I’ve been writing about birds in general. Now it’s time for a post about a specific type, namely the so well known pigeons. I think they deserve a dedicated article provided that they are some of the most commonly encountered birds. They live in huge numbers in cities but also in wilderness. The domesticated ones are so friendly and hard to scare that one almost steps on them on the street. They can be found everywhere in an urban area: streets, parks, on buildings, wires and so on.

Birds in Flight

Birds in flight (BIF) is one of the most fascinating and in many respects most difficult parts of nature photography. It does not only require skill and experience but also proper equipment. A proffesional bird photographer might spend tens of thousands of dollars for equipment and thousands of hours of time and patience in the middle of nature.

Hi guys,

Welcome to my first post for this year! I’ll get back to birds, which has gradually become one of my favorite photographic subjects. To compare it with macro photography it is somehow more relaxing and the success rate might in specific cases be higher. I say specific cases referring to still birds because birds-in-flight (BIF) is a completely different story (for me it is still in many respects an uncharted territory).
