Winter in Alba Iulia (1)

I took these pictures in Alba Iulia at the end of last year. It was the first day when it snowed in Alba Iulia, just before St. Nicholas. On such a weather many people would prefer to stay in the house for a cup of hot tea, however I decided to take a walk on the hills near the city, which the locals call “The Mammoth” because of their mammoth-like shape. And I didn’t get disappointed!

First I took a walk to a monastery which stands near the hills.

Then I went through the frosted forest heading to the hills.

I climbed the Mammoth.

Then I saw the city. Although I’ve been many times there, it was the first time when enjoying a winter panorama of Alba Iulia: snow everywhere, everything looked quiet and peaceful.

Even if it’s winter the nature was still alive.

I climbed further…

…until I got on top of the hill.

Suddenly I saw a flock of sheep searching for some grass in the snow.

Then I went down on the other side of the hill…

…slowly coming closer to the city…

…and leaving the hill behind.

I went further…

…and finally got close to the city!
